ADDICTS WHO WANT TO GET CLEAN NEED TO BE TREATED RIGHT AWAY
I am a support worker in the Downtown Eastside.
We have a client who is on day six of phoning detox and still cannot
get in. This is absolutely ridiculous and absurd.
When we called the Surrey detox, we were told if you are from
Vancouver you cannot get in at Surrey.
Something needs to be done because when an addict wants to get clean
they want it now.
I am a recovering addict myself, and we need more beds.
