POT SMOKERS' PROTEST TAUGHT LESSON ON CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE
Re: Reefer madness in the open air, Letters, July 10
Wow! Zahra Jaffar wrote a great letter.
This 16-year-old kid got her conscience shocked by thousands of
friendly cannabis users. Great, I say.
Outside the Vancouver Art Gallery on Canada Day, her mom led the
family to check out what was happening and ask questions of the
peaceful protesters.
Instantly, the kids began questioning what they'd been programmed to
think. New ideas flooded their young heads.
They may have begun to wonder why civil disobedience is necessary for
other young people. Little did they realize that the experience left
them with a better understanding of the true function of government.
