HOW FAR DOES MR. FELGER GET TO GO?
THE EDITOR:
We recently moved back to Abbotsford and so far we were happy about
the move. But we are starting to wonder if this was the smartest move
for our kids, especially after Canada Day and the BerryBeat Festival.
Both were great community events but Mr. [Tim] Felger's presence in
both those family events tarnished [them] a bit.
We hope the committees that take the registrations for these events do
some serious thinking before next year. This is nothing that we want
to teach our kids.
We don't smoke at all, and especially not the kind that Mr. Felger
suggests, and we certainly want our kids to follow that same route.
At the BerryBeat Festival, [Felger] was walking in front of the main
stage with a fake marijuana plant.
We went to the police booth and asked if they could do something. The
officers were very helpful but told us that they couldn't do anything
as it was a fake plant.
[As] immigrants, we committed to obey Canada's laws; we took an oath
to obey them when we received our Canadian citizenship. We firmly
believe that if you are not willing to integrate into the society in
the land you choose to live in, you are at the wrong place and should
go back to where you came from;
Mr. Felger wouldn't get far with his behaviour in the U.S., where he's
from. It is time we take a stand against people like Mr. Felger.
