FAILURES IN THE FIGHT AGAINST DRUGS
To the Editor:
It is time to recognize that the war on drugs is simply not winnable.
Prohibition didn't stop people from consuming alcohol, and the war on
drugs will never stop them from using drugs.
Until our policy makers come to grips with that reality, we will
continue to suffer from a drug policy that creates a vicious black
market economy and wastes billions of dollars on futile interdiction
efforts.
