HYDRO USE WASN'T AS SUSPICIOUS AS IT SEEMED
Re: Hydro use in Valley raises suspicions, Jan. 11
A phone call to the City of Chilliwack would have been appreciated
before The Sun published this story about BC Hydro use. Had the
reporter taken the time to call, he would have learned that the data
collected included all residential properties with a single
electrical meter. This includes single-family homes, farms and
apartment buildings. When the list was provided to us some weeks ago,
we checked all of the 540-odd addresses listed in Chilliwack. There
were perhaps three that show unexplained rates of electrical use.
I suspect the same is true for the other communities. While I
appreciate your newspaper's concern and interest, they are only
useful if the result is an accurate portrayal of reality.
