INSITE HAS ITS BENEFITS

Re: Look closely at effectiveness of safe injection site (Opinion, June 4)

Victoria Coun. Geoff Young ignored one important fact - users of
Insite are more likely to enter rehab than non-users of Insite. But
it's not the access to treatment, disease prevention, crime reduction,
or any of the many practical arguments that will ultimately prevail.
It's the basic message - you may be a homeless, drug-addicted
prostitute, but you're still a Canadian and we don't want you to die.
