SLIPPERY SLOPES
Re your editorial, Insite debate a slippery slope (May 29), you are
of course correct in your assertion that a logical next step in the
Insite imbroglio, now that the courts have given their sanction, is
for the government to supply addicts with safe, free drugs.
I hope also that you are entirely correct in describing these baby
steps as embarking down a very slippery slope -- all the way to
ending drug prohibition altogether, so the police can focus on
chasing real criminals instead of harassing addicts.
