DETOX CENTRE SHOULD BE LOCATED OUT OF TOWN
Many taxpayers in Victoria are happy to hear that we will be the first
city in Canada to pull the plug on its needle exchange. It doesn't
work.
At the end of May, the Vancouver Island Health Authority should open a
detox centre outside of Victoria, on a farm with lots of animals and
medical experts to take care of our sick children addicted to street
drugs. The drug dealers and freeloaders would have to learn a new
trade or leave town, reducing the crime activities downtown.
Victoria will then be returned to its citizens, and tourism will
return as in the old days, and with the revenue, we will be able to
keep our detox centers in the country going.
