DOCTOR'S STANCE ON INSITE BIASED
Dear Editor:
Re: Opposition is not just 'ideology,' Burnaby NOW, May 10.
Dr. Mangham's ideological bias is evidenced throughout his piece. One
need look no farther than the suggestion that Insite is "drawing
funds" that could be used elsewhere.
The federal government is not paying a penny for Insite, and Dr.
Mangham knows it.
What he also knows is that the federal government's ineffective $6
billion a year prohibition policy is "drawing funds" away from
effective policies such as harm reduction and treatment.
Perhaps if Dr. Mangham criticized that incredible waste of taxpayer
dollars, he might actually be seen as unbiased.
