DRUG-RAID PAPERS RELEASED

Details How 3 Cops Shot

Court documents made public yesterday reveal new details of what
happened when three police officers were shot raiding a suspected
drug house last month.

Daniell Anderson, 21, was arrested Dec. 7 after he allegedly fired a
shotgun at police from behind a bathroom door, injuring three officers.

A police affidavit released yesterday outlines police preparation for
the late night Jubilee Avenue raid and details of its aftermath.

The affidavit was prepared by Det. Joseph O'Donovan in support of a
warrant to search the house one day after the shooting.

Working on a tip from an informant, police secured a previous warrant
to search the house Dec. 7 for marijuana and cocaine.

A dozen officers took part in the raid, shortly before 11 p.m. Two
had the task of forcing the west side door open, using a battering
ram. Once the door was open, five officers with a police dog stormed
the house, shouting "Police! Police! Police!" says the affidavit.

Multiple Gunshots

As officers secured the house, "Daniel Anderson began to fire
multiple gunshots from a shotgun, from within a bathroom on main floor."

Three officers were hit and collapsed at or near the west side door.
Police shot Anderson in the arm and hand.

Anderson was arrested and taken into custody, as was his mother,
Bonnie Anderson, and his live-in girlfriend, Ashley Cochrane.

In a statement to police, Bonnie Anderson said she didn't know
Daniell possessed any firearms. Her husband, she said, had "five or
six guns" locked in a gun cabinet.

Cochrane told a different story, saying Daniell kept a
"short-barreled hunting gun" in their bedroom closet.

Cochrane said Daniell was in their main floor bedroom when police
stormed the house. She said Daniell went into the bathroom across the
hall and began to shoot at police as they came into the house.

Daniell's father, Montgomery Anderson, told police the next day he
knows his son associates with gang members.

A search of the home Dec. 8 recovered 85 exhibits, including a
Remington 12-gauge shotgun, numerous shell casings, blood samples and
bone fragments.
