COSTS TOO HIGH FOR NONVIOLENT OFFENDERS
I write in reference to "Art dealer sentenced for growing marijuana"
(May 3). Lambertville art dealer Alex Wieschenberg will serve six
years for growing 18 marijuana plants. He could have received 20 years.
Why not give him a hefty fine and sentence him to community service in
a drug rehab program for six years? The drug laws are filling our
prisons with nonviolent offenders, and we all know who will be picking
up the tab for Mr. Wieschenberg's incarceration.
