FIGHTING FOR LIBERTY
I'm sorry I missed Vancouver's fantastic "420" marijuana celebration,
but by all accounts it was a beautiful day. The police were respectful
and honourable at the celebration. They were there to ensure the
safety of the people, and they did.
That said, when unjust laws are willfully ignored, we stand a better
chance of liberty than if we adopt the position of John Winter of the
B.C. Chamber of Commerce.
Winter believes more in a patriarchy than a democracy. He says,
correctly, that most Canadians wants pot prohibition to stop.
Why, then, does he oppose the will of the majority?
If the issue is not about getting high, then getting high should be
acceptable. Or why would we be discussing this in the first place?
And finally, the opposite of democracy is not anarchy, it's tyranny.
And that's what the people were demonstrating about.
