THANKS TO SUPERVISORS WHO TABLED MEDICAL MARIJUANA ISSUE
In response to Jim Turner's April 24 letter ("Some supervisors aren't
open to the facts of marijuana"), first I would like to commend Mr.
Turner and agree with his statements and observations regarding the
aforementioned county Board of Supervisors meeting.
I too was at this meeting, and allowed a two-minute session to speak
as an opponent to a drastic reduction in the amount of medical
marijuana that people can grow and possess that was haphazardly drawn
without regard to facts and public comment and state law.
I felt that all opponents were allotted their two-minute time frame
and were very quickly stopped by the chairman of the Board of
Supervisors when this time frame was reached. But I observed that
some of the attendees that spoke in favor of the haphazardly drawn
proposal were not abruptly stopped and were, in fact, graciously
extended all the time they needed to get their point across. Albeit
there were very few of them.
I would like to extend thanks to the supervisors that were fair,
considerate, compassionate and took the time to table this matter for
further examination and consideration to the public comment and
medical cannabis community.
