POLICE PROTECT US
It was an interesting comment from lawyer Joseph Arvay, who is
representing a couple suing the City of Surrey over shutting off
power to their home, a target of an unofficial grow-op search.
Arvay says targeting homes for inspection that show unusually high
power consumption is just a ruse for police to gain entry.
But I don't think the police are really interested in how people use
their power. Their goal is a safer community for the law-abiding.
We continue to take away the tools that may benefit the police in
their battle to protect us.
Maybe it's time we started taking away the rights of those who don't
care about the rest of us.
