SELL DRUGS, RISK LOSING YOUR VEHICLE
Port Moody police are using yet another tool to deter drug dealers
making sales from their vehicles.
On Feb. 28, the police department's Strike Force Unit arrested two
Port Moody men and seized about 16 grams of crack cocaine and $1,600.
Police say the men were conducting a dial-a-dope operation from their
vehicle, and officers filed a restraint application to have the
vehicle designated as "offence-related property" under the Controlled
Drugs and Substances Act.
If the application is successful, the vehicle, valued at approximately
$11,000, will be held until trial, where the Crown will seek full
forfeiture of the vehicle and the cash after the trial.
