EDUCATION ON DRUGS NEEDED

Sir: Re: "Drug Unit busy in 2007," Chatham Daily News, March 24.

So I assume Deputy Chief Dennis Poole can now sit back and actually
justify his unit's seizure of drugs and therefore ask for more monies
to be allotted to a "new and improved" drug task force for next year?
Sad really.

In the last 80 years, the drug issue has only gotten worse thanks to
responses such as this.

Why not, on the other hand, legalize and regulate all drugs so that
responsible adults and those in government and medical dispensary
positions can have the effective control so desperately needed?

I am the leading female speaker for LEAP - Law Enforcement Against
Prohibition - a non-profit organization created to give former and
present day law enforcement officers a voice in this unending war on
people.

We believe the war on drugs is a failure and support alternative
policies of drug regulation and control that will save lives, reduce
disease, lower addiction rates, lessen crime and conserve tax dollars,
by ending drug prohibition.

Feel free to drop by http://www.leap.cc for more information and to
learn to think outside of the box.

It's time to get educated.

In closing, I will leave you with a quote from U.S. General George S.
Patton: "If everyone is thinking alike - then somebody isn't thinking"
