BAD DRUGS CIRCULATE ON STREET, POLICE WARN
CITY police issued a warning Tuesday about street drugs masquerading
as either ecstasy or caffeine pills, but really containing highly
addictive methamphetamine.
Police said the pills are often stamped with a variety of icons such
as happy faces and hearts. A recent seizure of pills containing
methamphetamine bore the Coca Cola stylized trademark, stamped into
the white pill.
Methamphetamine is slowly becoming a more common street drug, but its
ingredients are often a potentially toxic mix of paint thinner, freon,
acetone, chloroform, camp stove fuel, drain cleaner, muriatic acid,
lithium from batteries and anhydrous ammonia, common agriculture fertilizer.
Police released the warning after testing pills that had been recently
seized.
