"GET TOUGH ON DRUGS"

I find the statement "get tough on drugs" funny. What exactly does
that mean and what does that look like? Who are these drug addicts
and why have they chosen this lifestyle? Or have they?

When I was in high school, we were told of the dangers of drugs and
still there were always people who abused them. Even today with all
the evidence around us of how harmful they are, it is still an issue.

Abusing drugs comes with a lifestyle attached. It seems to me that
harm reduction is the humane way to go until drug addicts find the
strength within themselves and the necessary supports outside to stop.

Lets stop demonizing these people. They are someone's child, mother,
father, brother or sister. The drug lords who supply the drugs create
the addicts so they have their consumers. Hence their money and
opulent lifestyles (at the addict's expense) are the real problem.
