JAIL, NOT NEEDLES, BEST FOR ADDICTS

I do understand and have compassion for people who have no home and
who should be the top of the list for city council to deal with.

But drug addicts should not be given free needles, and a free place to
shoot up.

I have lived in this city all my life and there must have been people
plagued with drug problems before.

Never were there needles lying around. Never did I see anyone shooting
up on the street until the last few years. Now they seemingly have an
endless supply of drugs and needles.

Instead of dealing with these people as if they were breaking the law,
which they are, we encourage them.

What about what the citizens need? What about the businesses that have
given up and closed? What about the people who wade their way through
Odeon Alley to get to work.

It is time to stand up and say, you are breaking the law. And then do
something about it.

Having councillors telling store owners to wait before closing their
businesses until it "hopefully" rejuvenates is a slap in the face.
Arrest these people. And keep arresting them until maybe some of them
will start to think about getting clean. And so what if it costs us
money. We are already paying for all the mess that they are making.
