RICH AND POOR ALL USE DRUGS, BUT ONLY THE POOR GO TO JAIL

Why is Asheville City Councilman Mumpower picking on the poor of
Asheville who cannot afford to pay doctors and the drug companies for
their Oxycontin, amphetamines, marijuana, etc.? Like poor people are
the only drug users. Sure. I saw a doctor's daughter the other day
who was using 18 different "drugs." Some of us richer folks have the
richest urine in the world. Just look at the shelves at CVS or Walgreens.

These right-wing zealots, not physicians, go back to Teddy Roosevelt
and the Harrison Act when they jailed the Chinese opium users and the
Mexican marijuana importers and now they are putting more black males
in jails that are full instead of giving them psychiatric help and
free drugs at the Health Department. It would be a lot cheaper with
fewer robberies and homicides.

If you have money you can go to Starbucks or Ingles for a beer or
cigarette, but Mumpower wants you to go to jail if you are poor. Not
a very Christian way to treat and help your fellow men, who are just
as "sick" as the rich.
