LEGAL REMEDIES MAY HAVE SIDE EFFECTS

The people who use marijuana to ease their pain and suffering are
doing so at great risk. When I read their stories, it's clear they
have no other choice. They've tried medications that can be legally
prescribed. These either don't work or have side effects that are
often worse than the symptoms they are supposed to relieve. Some
painkillers cause ulcers, headaches and some even leave patients
hopelessly addicted to expensive and debilitating narcotics. These
suffering individuals don't use marijuana to get high; they use it to
make it through the day.

Let's make it legal for Michigan's seriously ill patients to get what
they need and deserve -- a safe and effective way to ease their pain.
