FAST SUPPORTS DRUG STRATEGY
Abbotsford MP Ed Fast says the new National Anti-Drug Strategy will be
aimed at preventing drug use, treating people with drug dependencies,
and combating the production and distribution of illicit drugs. It
will also give parents the "tools" they need to talk to their children
about drugs.
The first part of the campaign includes newspaper, radio and online
advertisements aimed at children aged 13 to 15. The ads will be
followed by a national television campaign starting in April.
"Tackling Canada's drug problem involves more than just increasing the
number of police and toughening jail sentences for drug criminals,"
Fast said. "That's why we're focusing on those in our society who are
most at risk from the drug culture, namely our children."
