ALAN BOROVOY HAS IT WRONG
Re: Protecting Canadians From Illegal Evidentiary Seizures, A. Alan
Borovoy, March 12.
A. Alan Borovoy's column focuses on the Canadian Civil Liberties
Association's interpretation of the Charter of Rights and his belief
in what is good for me (i.e., society). While I thank Mr. Borovoy for
looking out for me, what he fails to realize is that I live in a real
world of nasty people, and I only have the police to help remove them.
I suggest the police's actions are acceptable for most of us, and we
should absolve them of guilt imposed from ivory towers. Mr. Borovoy's
entire opinion is vitiated by just a few words: "77 pounds of cocaine."
A point for the judges. Zero for Mr. Borovoy's special interest group.
