COUNTY BALKS AT MEDICAL POT

Re "Like it or not, it's the law," editorial, March 8: I am one of the
Sacramento County residents who cast my vote for Proposition 215 more
than a decade ago. I now find myself a patient who has come to rely on
the medical marijuana recommended by my doctor.

It baffles me that our county officials haven't implemented the
state-mandated medical marijuana ID program. Who are they working for
- - their constituents or the Bush administration?

I hope the Board of Supervisors does the right thing and directs staff
to implement the ID card program.

Not only will it free up the time of the local police, it'll prevent
seriously ill patients from being falsely arrested at the expense of
taxpayers.
