BOOZE REAL DANGER ON ROADS

In Need to protect public trumps individual rights (SP, Feb 21),
Daryle Wing offers no justification to believe that public safety
would be protected by restricting our constitutional rights.

The road to Cochin from North Battleford has been referred to as
"Death Highway" because of all the alcohol-related deaths that have
occurred on it over the past several years. In fact, according to SGI
annual reports, the two main causes of fatalities of Saskatchewan
roads are alcohol and poor road conditions.

Wing should be wondering why so much tax money is spent on marijuana
prohibition each year when there are real problems to solve. The truth
is, if nobody ever smoked marijuana in Saskatchewan again, there would
be no reduction in highway fatalities, just a need to find a new scapegoat.
