READERS TOUT PRO-MARIJUANA MESSAGE

To the editor:

Re: "Weed feeds pimps, gun-running thugs," Letters, Feb. 1.

In his letter, Brad Ridgway warned the public that "if you purchase
cannabis off the street you are supporting the activities of organized
crime..." ("Weed feeds pimps, gun-running thugs," Letters, Feb. 1.)

Well, where else can I get my weed? If all drugs were regulated by the
government as alcohol and tobacco are now, I could walk into my local
government distribution centre and purchase my choice of intoxicant
and know that it would be safe to consume and that I would be
financially supporting our government instead of my local chapter of
organized crime.
