CLEARWATER RCMP TAKE OUT $25 MILLION IN MARIJUANA

The Clearwater RCMP detachment says one of their priorities is the war
on drugs and organized crime.

For the year of 2007, Clearwater detachment in partnership with
Clearwater Traffic Services took down 18 indoor grow operations, and
two outdoor grows for a total of 6,783 marijuana plants.

In addition, a district wide Outdoor Marijuana Eradication project
took more than 19,000 marijuana plants from various outdoor grow sites
in the area.

In total, Clearwater was responsible for removing 25,839 pot plants
from circulation.

The Detachment reports that if the marijuana had made it to the street
level, it would have yielded more than $25,000,000 (25 million
dollars) in illegal revenues.

In addition to the marijuana seizures, there were a total of 137 drug
seizures for the year yielding the following quantities: 70.12
kilograms dried marijuana bud, 971 grams cocaine, 25 grams hash oil,
430 grams mushrooms, 55 ml steroids, $1,157,200 cash, three handguns,
four long guns, and several miscallaneous pills including oxytocin,
morphine, ecstasy, and T3's.
