POT RULING NEEDS SECOND LOOK
Re: "Judge rules cops violated rights of pot grower," Feb. 7.
So the police didn't wait long enough before bursting into a house to
find more than 70 pot plants in the basement and thus violated the
owner's charter rights. Apparently they should have given the poor
guy more time to level the playing field and possibly open the door
with guns blazing.
If the judge was bound by the strict demands of the law, it is time
the law was re-examined. Maybe she should try imagining herself in
the situation of the police instead of looking for legal loopholes
for the culprit.
