MEDICAL APPROACH
In response to Joey Thompson's column, it is wrong to exclude anyone
from the Beyond 2008 conference.
However, abstinence programs are only one of a host of treatment
plans, and only work for perhaps 10 per cent of the population.
Furthermore, I am not a cheerleader for harm reduction, but rather
someone who believes in the Four Pillars approach.
I do not believe we can enforce our way out of what is essentially a
medical problem.
