ADDICTION ANTI-SOCIAL AND DESTRUCTIVE
Luke Chess argues that we should not differentiate between people suffering
an addiction and people with a disability in terms of accommodation and
entitlements (Letters, November 28). He is missing the point. The history
of the circumstance is irrelevant.
What matters is how the specific problem impacts on needs and behaviour.
The reality is that substance abuse carries with it a legion of
destructive, anti-social behaviours which no amount of "compassion" can
make either acceptable or desirable in a neighbour or a tenant.
