LET'S REPEAL COLORADO'S MEDICAL MARIJUANA LAW

One of the many arguments for the passing of medical marijuana laws
in Colorado and other states was that it was harmless and even
beneficial to others.

I would beg to differ. Of course, I am not alone in the assessment
that marijuana is dangerous. Beside the law enforcement community,
the American Medical Association and other medical societies declare
that marijuana is dangerous, including the American Glaucoma Society.
Recently, teenager Brittney Chambers died of Ecstasy use.

Sports figures Len Bias and Joe Gilliam died as a direct use of
cocaine. According to retired Gen. Barry McCaffrey and the Office of
National Drug Control and Policy, 50,000 people die each year because
of illegal drugs. In Aurora, five people were involved in a hostage
and kidnapping standoff with police over drugs.

Some $58 billion a year is wasted on illegal drugs, and that does not
include costs for lost productivity.

Tell me again how illegal drugs are not harmful. Let's repeal the
medical marijuana law passed in November and return sanity to the
legislative process!
