AVAILABILITY OF DRUGS AT SCHOOL CONCERNS PARENT

There has been much discussion lately regarding drug use in public schools.
As a parent of a child who was caught at school smoking pot, I am very
concerned about the availability of drugs in our schools.

I spoke with the assistant principal of Fort Morgan High School about
bringing the police dogs in. It seems that the principal will not allow the
dogs in "his" building.

By the principal being allowed to have this control, he is endorsing,
enforcing and encouraging drug use among high school students!

Being extremely frustrated, I also decided to call the school district
superintendent to express my concerns. This was about three weeks ago and
I'm still waiting for the dogs to go into FMHS or for a legitimate reason
why they shouldn't be allowed in the building.

Some school districts need to get their priorities straight. After all,
students do have the legal right to a safe and healthy education.
