SUPPORT MEDICAL MARIJUANA BILL

I am a college-educated as well as a seminary-educated 46-year-old male. I
had to retire as a minister two years ago due to brain cancer. Before I
developed brain cancer, I had acute leukemia twice. The last battle nearly
killed me. I was taking massive doses of chemotherapy to stay alive. I
looked like death warmed over. In two months I lost over 45 pounds. I told
people at church not to hug me because, literally, you might break one of
my ribs.

A very wise and understanding doctor told me about marijuana. I had a fit!
I told him I was a minister, not a pothead. He said, "fine." The next week,
I again could not eat because of the ungodly nausea. After my chemotherapy
treatment, I tried the marijuana. I actually ate a meal and did not spend
hours throwing it up!

There is a bill in the Texas House, sponsored by Rep. Terry Keel, R-Austin,
permitting the medical usage of marijuana. I pray it passes! Sure, we have
many anti-nausea drugs, but do you know how expensive they are if you do
not have insurance? This bill must pass, to end the needless suffering
people like myself went through!
