WHO'S WORSE?
The Feb. 21 Trib reported that former Springdale District Justice Gigi
Sullivan was to undergo 30 days of drug treatment in Boca Raton, Fla.,
and was sentenced to less than two years in a work-release facility
and house arrest followed by five years' probation after pleading
guilty to dealing drugs, obstructing justice and running a corrupt
organization ("Sullivan avoids jail time").
Several pages later, it was reported that Beris Jose Cabrera was
sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison and ordered to pay $250,000 in
fines for operating a corrupt organization, delivery of a controlled
substance and conspiracy, and that he had "delivered between 40 and 60
kilos of cocaine to Fayette County."
It makes one wonder who commits the worse disservice to society,
criminals or our judges.
