THANKS NEWSPAPER
To the Editor,
Kudos for you and your newspaper for daring to make available so much
valuable print space to the many excellent rebuttals to Prosecutor Jerry
Richards op-ed piece. All the letters were dead on. However, Russell Nelson
is much too kind when he writes, "An equally ridiculous accusation would be
to accuse Jerry of profiting from the War on Drugs because his office has
more employees and higher funding." Ridiculous, I don't think so. As I
believe it was H.L. Mencken who wrote, "Never argue with a man who's job
depends on not changing his mind."
$50 billion plus per year being poured into a rat hole, called the Drug War
with its 51 federal agencies, keeps a lot of people employed.
