NO REFORM FOR PARRETT
Dr Wodak's plea that those deciding national drug policy "think
outside the box" is incongruous. His Australian Drug Law Reform
Foundation still favours the drug policy which has led to a doubling
of daily heroin users in Australia to 75,000 over the past 10 years
compared with, for example, 6,000 in Sweden, which has a restrictive
policy.
Our customs and police are doing a magnificent job in restricting
drug infiltration given we have a 30,000-kilometre coastline, only 19
million people, and consequently very limited resources.
