WEB OF DRUGS, THEFT UNRAVELLED -- POLICE

POLICE say a four-month investigation has unravelled part of Perth's
suburban drug supply web and stolen goods network.

Tactical response group officers swarmed on a Mt Hawthorn home yesterday.

Two people were arrested after police allegedly seized drugs, weapons and
stolen property from the Anzac Road house.

Aaron Karl Labrook, 31, of Mt Hawthorn, has been charged with possession of
amphetamines with intent, possession of cannabis with intent, two counts of
possessing a weapon, possession of ammunition and burglary.

Tony Mrsa, 21, of Mt Hawthorn, has been charged with possession of
amphetamines with intent, possession of cannabis with intent and no motor
driver's licence.

The raid was the culmination of Operation Gucci, which involved 120
officers led by the Fremantle tactical investigation team.

Investigations into an eight-man crime gang developed into a wide hunt for
gang members and associates over the past few weeks.

Det-Sgt Pryce Scanlan, of Fremantle, said the raid on the Mt Hawthorn home,
which the police target was renting, occurred about 6.30am.

Police spent the morning cataloguing batches of powders and several items
they believed had been stolen.

Ten people were arrested during Operation Gucci and more than 100 charges
were laid.

Three months of surveillance ended in mid-February, when police raided a
meeting between members of an alleged crime gang at the Noranda Square
shopping centre.

The tactical part of the operation then came to a head when officers raided
eight houses.

Police said gang members had formed a violent crime group with links to the
Rebels and God's Garbage bikie gangs.
