TALKS ON BID TO LEGALISE CANNABIS

AROUND 100 people from across the country attended a conference in Norwich
to call for the legalisation of cannabis.

The conference at the University of East Anglia on Saturday was organised
by the Legalise Cannabis Alliance.

Speakers came from a range of backgrounds and included Eddie Ellison,
former head of Scotland Yard's Drug Squad, and author and former cannabis
smuggler Howard Marks.

Topics discussed at the second annual get-together of the Norwich-based
pressure group ranged from cannabis and the law, human rights and the role
of the drug in medicine.
