BROTHERS, AGES 80 AND 74, MAKE DEALS IN MARIJUANA CASE
PORT WASHINGTON, WISCONSIN - An 80-year-old man pleaded guilty to
felony charges that he ran one of Wisconsin's largest marijuana
farms. His 74-year-old brother pleaded no contest.
Eugene Burmesch entered the guilty plea to manufacturing marijuana
and maintaining a drug manufacturing operation. His younger brother,
David, pleaded no contest to the same charges Wednesday, a day before
their trial was to begin.
Ozaukee County District Atty. Sandy Williams dropped charges of
possession with intent to sell in exchange for the pleas.
David Burmesch said he had been growing marijuana for decades to
support a disabled son.
