WORTHWHILE PROGRAM
The students were taught how to avoid drugs, alcohol, smoking and violence.
On March 12, I attended a program at St. Charles Borromeo School in
Bensalem at which 43 students graduated from the DARE program (Drug
Abuse Resistance Education). The students were taught how to avoid
drugs, alcohol, smoking and violence. The students had classes one
day a week for 17 weeks, which were taught by Officer Joe Sisco from
the Bensalem Police Department. The students were asked questions and
answered with enthusiasm of what they learned. They sang the DARE
song directed by Miss Kalinowski, a fifth-grade teacher. The students
received a DARE T-shirt and a diploma from Officer Joe.
This is the first year Officer Sisco worked with the DARE program,
and he did a wonderful job helping children to be aware of drugs and
what they can do to you.
