DAMN THOSE RAVERS!

In talking about how he wants to crack down on ecstasy use at raves,
("Undercover cops nab 10 ravers," April 2) Det. Michael McGivern of the
Toronto police stated that at raves, "everyone seems real happy ... there's
almost no violence at these things." Well, I for one am shocked and
dismayed. Imagine the nerve - taking drugs that make you nice!

Let's get these young people back into more traditional entertainment
venues - like bars - where they can follow the North American custom of
frying their brains with alcohol, then acting obnoxious, anti-social, and
violent. They can then finish their evening out by driving home
drunk. Surely that would be better for society. Damn those ravers!
