MANHATTAN: OFFICER ADMITS DRUG TRAFFICKING

A New York City police officer pleaded guilty yesterday to heroin and
cocaine trafficking charges, the United States attorney's office said. The
officer, Willie Parson, was a homicide detective assigned to the Manhattan
North Homicide Task Force. He admitted conspiring with other officers to
act as couriers for Dominican narcotics traffickers in Washington Heights.
Mr. Parson and two officers who pleaded guilty in February, Detective
Steven Fuller and a retired officer, Philip Moog, face a maximum penalty of
life in prison and a $4 million fine.
