UNITING CHURCH TO MOVE FAST ON INJECTING ROOM

The Uniting Church says it will move as soon as possible to open the
country's first heroin injecting room in Sydney

This follows yesterday's decision by the Supreme Court to reject claims by
the Kings Cross Chamber of Commerce that the licence was not properly issued.

The Reverend Hary Herbert says it is now just a matter of organising staff.

"We had them ready at the beginning of February, but now we've had some
time elapse," he said.

"It's a question of contacting them all again and organising deadlines and
we haven't spoken to any of them yet and that will take time."
