RAVE PARTIES DRAW DRUGS
Iwas reading the responses in Rena Pederson's March 25 column about MDMA
and I am quite alarmed by the people standing up in defense of the whole
"rave" subculture. They deny it's not about the drugs, but I have been a
security guard at the Bronco Bowl for nearly five years and every time a
rave is held, I usually end up ejecting at least 50 people for selling or
taking pills. And if it's not about the drugs, why are there people selling
shirts that advertise the drug with slogans like "Roll Model"? Not to
mention, a lot of the people I see at these meetings you just know are on
the drugs.
If it were up to me, I'd make raves illegal. I appreciate your responsible
journalism when exposing the dark side of these gatherings.
