DRUG PROHIBITION WILL NEVER SUCCEED
RE: "BUSTS only cause rise in demand for drugs," April 1. Letter writer N.
Speers made a rational presentation of the law of supply and demand as it
pertains to the illegal drugs. Rather than issuing one of your standard,
flippant remarks I think all readers would appreciate your analysis of why
the law of supply and demand would not apply. Seventy years of Soviet
communism could not defeat the profit motive. What makes you think that
drug prohibition can?
