SAFE ROOM OR STREET DEATHS
Just who are the Kings Cross Chamber of Commerce kidding? It doesn't want
the injecting room because it would "effectively legalise drug dealing and
possession in Kings Cross".
Have any of them stepped outside their front doors lately? Legalised or
not, drug dealing and possession are facts of life in Kings Cross. People
inject every day in the back lanes. But the Chamber of Commerce takes
offence to a safe and controlled environment for these people.
Regardless of how we feel about the morality of allowing people to inject
drugs, the kids who are doing it are somebody's children. Nobody likes to
see anyone's child shoot up but surely the only thing worse is informing
parents about their child's overdose?
