ABSURD DECISION
MOST readers will feel a sense of outrage at the release of a woman
convicted of helping to import heroin worth $200,000.
She was released because "her children were suffering". Apparently the
suffering of other people's children using and dying from heroin is of
little concern.
What kind of message does this send to current and potential heroin
importers, to the police struggling to bring criminals to justice and to
the public seeking protection from the consequences of the heroin trade?
The battle against hard drugs appears to be lost in the courts.
