JUSTICE FAILED US

THANK you, Patrick Grogan (Drug mum had a choice, 17/4). You have summed it
up perfectly.

I am also appalled by the decision of the Court of Criminal Appeal to
release a 35-year-old woman from prison. References were made about the
future of her children. This woman knew what she was doing but she is free.
I have two daughters in Bandyup Prison because of the likes of this person.

One of my daughters has a three-year-old child who my husband and I have
looked after for 18 months. This child is emotionally disturbed because of
the situation.

If I contacted Chief Justice David Malcolm with our plight would he
consider our daughter's fate? I don't think so. These kids are little fish
who have been caught in this terrible trap of buying illicit drugs from
people like this woman who is free and back on the streets.

She obtained her freedom by using her children. It really concerns me when
our justice system lets our community down.
