VANDER ZALM'S OLD WHEELS TO BECOME NEW CANNABUS
With the provincial election up and running, the B.C. Marijuana Party has
secured some heavy-duty wheels with which to bring its message to the B.C.
public.
"We've got Bill Vander Zalm's old bus," said Michael Hansen, South Delta
candidate for the party. "It was also used by Ronald Reagan and (former
Minnesota state governor and wrestler) Jesse Ventura. We're going to give
it a bit of a hemp makeover. I've already lined up a hemp supplier for the
seats."
According to party president Marc Emery, speaking from the party's downtown
headquarters, the Cannabus was indeed used in Ronald Reagan's 1980
presidential campaign and again in 1996 by Jessy Ventura.
"It's funny how some of the media actually remember the bus," said Emery.
"I had the guy from (Vancouver's) mycityradio.com telling me he remembered
the bus. He told me it was a real polluting belcher. I told him it must've
been if Reagan used it in 1980."
