WHAT A BUMMER, MAHON

Crown attorney Ian Mahon should have tempered his Ecstasy rhetoric with
some semblance of truth.

"This is an extremely dangerous drug," Mahon told Justice Barbara Hamilton.

However, "dangerous drugs" are a political designation. Drugs are inanimate
objects and therefore dangerous to no one.

To prove my point, I will sit on a ton of Ecstasy if Mahon will sit on a
ton of lime.

Mahon will be dissolved in lime and will have a better appreciation for the
danger of chemicals we find on the periodic table. He can then tell us
about the potential consequences of driving your car or crossing the street
- -- death and other horrible injuries, as a number of Winnipeggers discover
every year.

(It's unfortunate Ecstasy doesn't come as a suppository, then we could take
you up on your Ecstasy vs. lime offer.)
